                    About The Artist                       

    Martha Elizabeth Sinnard Wright was born in Denver, Colorado, where she was greatly influenced by her mother to pursue art. At the age of four, Martha was already drawing girl’s faces, especially the Dione Quintuplets, movie stars, also horses which she rode everyday on the family farm.
    At fourteen, Martha moved to Washington, D.C., and began studying, drama, dancing, voice, fine art and and fashion illustration. She then moved to New York City after graduating from high school, and became a model, and later began her career as a fashion illustrator for a trade newspaper in New York City, and later for a department store and advertising agency in Washington, DC.
     Martha and Robert M. Wright were married in 1948, and Martha became the mother of four wonderful sons. During those years, she painted hundreds of ties, also murals, landscapes, still life, and portraits of family, friends and government officials, while pursuing a theatre career on stage and in films.
    Martha’s promotion of the arts in Annapolis led to President Carter appointing her as a Member of the Advisory Committee on the Arts / John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.  She was instrumental in forming the steering committees to found the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis, and the Ballet Theatre of Maryland. She is the founder of the Annapolis Opera, Inc. and the co-founded of the Tom Thumb Players children’s theatre. Martha is an actress, writer, singer, producer, director, illustrator, stage designer, set painter, creator or body puppets, and costumes.
    Martha is the proud grandmother of two grandchildren, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry, and for over twenty-two years, she has devoted her life and talents to serving Christ, and ministering as a pastor of two churches.
    Now retired, Martha is dedicating her time to portrait and fine art painting.
